This year my classes will be participating in a classroom weblog ("blog" for short). This is a process in which the students will be asked to logon to a blogging site specifically designed and set up by me for our classroom purposes. On this site the students will be asked to complete a variety of tasks. Each week one or more of their homework assignments will be completed and submitted through this forum. The assignments will vary from traditional problem sets, answering a specific question, as well as peer discussions on classroom topics.

I believe that this is a technology the students are already (and need to be) familiar with and enjoy. I also feel that this is a great way for the students to foster relationships with one another by sharing their ideas, opinions and knowledge about many things through the discussion of math.

The site that will be hosting our classroom blogs is ClassChatter.com. The students will need to access their classroom using their class name (found below) and their password (provided to them in class). For security reasons the password will not be listed on this site.

This venture requires that students have access to the internet. There will be some opportunities for the students to utilize the computers on campus. I would also suggest using the Maricopa Public Library.
